   What a sturdy, quality piece of workout equipment. Even if you just buy it for hip, knee post-op or pre-op ( ask Dr. first ) or for the fastest way to burn calories. Also you’ll love the monitor which gauges your reasons, for riding. Two double AA Batteries come included for it..Following information covers many of your questions, hopefully.

   I have used this model in the past, and before I bought my semi-recumbent stationary bike. This one far exceeds the benefits of the semi with the fastest workout even if you are on it one minute at moderate speed. You will be breathing hard then, unless you are accustomed to long, hard workouts.. With the semi-recumbent it would take 4 minutes for heavy breathing.. No moving arms on those. After 3 months I sold it. This bike works everything out…all muscle groups and what an aerobic workout. It works just as described in the onsite description. I am loving it. I am so thrilled. I hired a general contractor to put it together for me. It took him almost an hour.

   I had read about the very hard seat on this bike so when ordering it, I also ordered the Schwinn spinning gel seat cushion cover, separately. Even with that though, the seat is fairly hard. I can’t imagine sitting on it for over 20 minutes which I don’t plan to anyway. I don’t have much padding as I am a slender gal. One needs to sit far back on the seat which is recommended on YouTube videos of this bike anyway. The seat will adjust up and down but not forward or backward. I don’t have it up as far as it will go and my legs are longer than anyone, even 6’2″.

   Be sure to read how far down your foot must go on one pedal. There should be a slight bend in the knee. I am 5’8″ and the seat is perfect for my very long legs at 32 and 1/2 inches from the floor to the top of the seat. The leg must NOT be straight or it will be in danger of locking.

   Since I like to ride with socks on, only, rather than shoes, I didn’t need or want the very secure pedal straps that come with this bike, so as hard as they were to remove, I just used some liquid soap where the adjustable straps attach to the pedal, and they came off, with much effort though. I WOULD want the straps if I were going to workout the way they do in the gym, on these bikes, or the way they show on some YouTube videos. I don’t ride for calorie burn though, and cardio is in great shape. I ride for general exercise, because I don’t walk enough, but do lift weights and do stretch exercises..I do what it takes to stay in great physical, emotional, and mental fitness and health. This bike would be fantastic for burning calories in a short time, believe me.

   The spinning wheel noise: Boy, Schwinn has vastly improved the amount of noise between this bike and one of 10 years ago. I do not have to turn the TV up at all, when exercising and the volume of my TV is on the low side, always. The swooshing noise the wheel makes sounds similar to having a fan on medium- high, in a small bedroom. No problem. Love it.

   The Arms: Because my arms are long and in proportion to my 5’8″ torso, the arms are okay, but really would have preferred another inch on the arms. A person with short arm-length might have to sit closer to the edge of the pointed seat for reach. This might not be good for the back, as is the semi-recumbent, but if your back is strong, might not be a problem. The semi-recumbent bike would have been great if it had the moving handlebars. The bars are just the perfectly firm resistance for me and cannot be adjusted.In time they will loosen with use and still be perfect. With hands over the grips, you are working out your triceps, and lower inside arm and with hands holding the bars from the underside you are working out your biceps. Love all that.

   The color: As shown and just beautiful. Being an interior decorator, one knows always to have at least one flat black item in every room to contrast the decor. So, that is why I bought the black/charcoal grey, one shown, instead of the previous grey/white, outdated-looking model which costs less. New bike looks VERY sharp at the end of my bed and next to the wall. Just barely had the room but had measured for it, using the site’s dimensions.

   This Schwinn AD2 Airdyne bike is a winner in my book. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it or give it to someone I cared about.

   This airdyne is amazing. It took me about an hour to put it together by myself. The seat is not so comfortable so I ordered another from Amazon. You can use your arms and legs together or just the legs or just the arms. You get a real workout in a short time. I had to start at five minutes and work up. I highly recommend this Schwinn Airdyne.

   I had the grey bike first… despite color being the only difference, this one is also quieter for some reason.. Both sturdy bikes.. Happy I bought them
