BF 3 LED Hand Pressing Flashlight is perfect for outdoor activities, emergencies or everyday use since there are no batteries to worry about. Our Environmental friendly, convenient 4 Pack lets you put them wherever you want – Car, Kitchen Drawer or Backpack, for when they are needed. The compact, lightweight design makes the BF hand pressing flashlight useful for just about anywhere. Activate the bright 3LED light by simply cranking the handle a few times, and unlike some other hand powered flashlights, ours doesn’t require constant pumping to stay bright. Flashlight features an on/off button for when you need constant light, a lock button to tuck in the handle and it includes a convenient carry strap. This is actually two separate products in one: a disposable non rechargeable flashlight and a hand cranked flashlight. The on/off switch switches the flashlight between the two modes. When you turn the switch “on” there is a nice bright light powered by three disposable button cells. These button cells last a surprisingly long time(10 hours of continuous use) and are not replaceable. When the switch is “off” then squeezing the crank actually generates electricity to power the light, and the light is perfectly bright enough to be useful.

    The description of this item says “Activate the bright 3LED light by simply cranking the handle a few times, and unlike some other hand powered flashlights, ours doesn’t require constant pumping to stay bright.” This is completely false. Based on some suspicions from the other reviewers, I decided to test how well this light works. I left the light on to let the battery die. It did take an impressive 5 days or so to die. Letting it die (or at the very least, become dim enough to be useless) has revealed an important point: the on/off switch uses the batteries, which are not rechargeable and do not charge with the crank. Using the crank does produce bright light, but only while you are actively pumping the handle. The very second you stop, the light stops. No amount of pumping will continue to produce light after you stop pumping.
    Do not buy this if you are wanting a hand-chargeable flashlight. It only pretends to be.

    Treat as a novelty only!! Had this for one year now; given as a gift. Put in glove compartment (along with another standard flashlight). Reached to use it and the little NiCad battery in the unit WOULD NOT take or hold a charge. It put out a small amount of light as long as it was being hand pressed. A good NiCad battery costs money and this flashlight has just enough battery to get the units sold to the unsuspecting consumer.
