Excellent Elliptical Machine! You Get What You Pay For – Commercial Quality All The Way!,
Also, I like the Go Console. It has 11 automated programs to help you vary your workouts and keep things interesting. I especially love the heart rate monitoring programs. The Go Console has more than enough programs to keep you motivated that there really is no need to pay $400 more for the Track Console. The assembly of the machine was rather easy and so far the machine has been working without a problem. As I said, I paid more for this machine than I might have for a Sole or Smooth elliptical. But I do not regret my purchase because it feels like this machine may last several years before needing service or wearing out.
Finally, I have to extend hearty praise to Amazon Customer Service. They had to ship me the machine 3 times until I received a machine that had not been damaged during the shipping. The first 2 machines arrived with parts either broken or missing. To resolve, I simply requested an exchange and Amazon arranged to ship me a new unit and pickup the old one at the same time. They did this promptly and without much hassle. Thanks, Amazon! Just pick more reliable freight carriers.

Worst Customer Service Ever !!!,
Now imagine that experience being twice as bad as you remember.
This is about what you should expect if your judgment is poor enough to purchase a Life Fitness product.
And if you do get burned, don’t say that nobody warned you.
Today, I tried to purchase replacement parts for an X3 Elliptical. Because my exerciser is seven years old, Life Fitness deems it in their terminology, “End Of Life” and therefore parts can not be guaranteed to be available.
So now I have an elliptical that Life Fitness demanded a $2,860.94 price tag for with an additional charge of $148.40 for local delivery and setup, however once the exerciser reaches the ripe old age of seven, Life Fitness can not be held responsible for any replacement part that you may need. That is a total cost of $3009.34 which if you spread out over the course of seven years is costing you approximately $429.91 a year to own. (How much is a gym membership?) I guess that means when you buy a new machine, you better look it over real well, decide what “might” break on it and then purchase those extra parts and put them in storage for a rainy day.
Another issue that was a little unsettling was the idea that once the rep figured out that the machine was seven years old, it really threw him off. It was as if he never got a call for an elliptical that was actually seven years old. Why do you think that is? Could it be they never last that long?
The retro fit parts I needed that they had in stock weighs less than 14oz. and would fit in a box the size of a softball. I had to ask the customer service rep to repeat himself three times when he told me that UPS Ground shipping would be $28.00 (from Chicago, IL to northeast PA). I was assured that this was not their pricing, but that of UPS and that if possible, the shipping charges may be lower once the materials were packaged, however that information would not be available to me until after the item was shipped.
Insisting that the shipping process couldn’t possibly be that complicated and getting absolutely nowhere with the customer service rep, I had no choice but to ask to speak with a supervisor. Unfortunately, he was not available and the rep could not offer any further assistance than to offer to connect me with his voice mail with absolutely no indication of when I would be contacted.
In closing, I would say that in comparison to other comparable elliptical exercisers, the X3 is a relatively well made machine. Constructed in Taiwan with slave labor utilizing the cheapest possible materials on the planet, is it really worth the almost $3000.00 price tag that Life Fitness demands….Hardly!!! I am no economics expert, but it seems pretty clear that the profit margin on this product even at a price tag of $300.00 would be enough to make the Life Fitness CEO laugh so hard that he couldn’t keep from wetting his pants.
My only advice is that if anyone were interested in purchasing a Life Fitness product, look at the classified ads and buy one for less than half the cost of a new one. Their products are simply not worth the price they demand for them.
Just another textbook example that future generations will refer to as typical ruthless greed on the part of a company that disguises itself as “American” but in reality keeps every dime of their profits outside of the US economy, directly contributing to the country’s financial demise.
And if you do happen to purchase a Life Fitness product, make sure you set your timer for seven years.
