It’s kind of awkward but ok if you’re really old.

Good starter bike for a great price, September 13, 2012

I received this bike on September 11. The box was in good condition, and there were no missing or broken parts. It took about 45 minutes to put together, and I had no problems with assembly. It is light weight (about 55 pounds), making it very easy to move. I’ve used it 3 times for about an hour each time, and it seems to be functioning fine. It is very quiet. It has 8 levels of tension, and each level does seem to be progressively more difficult, as expected. The computer displays very little information: speed, mileage, time, and calories burned. The calories burned is not a number I would put any credence in, since it isn’t based on the user’s weight, height, or gender. So, really the only helpful information displayed are speed, mileage, and time. I would suggest purchasing a heart rate monitor to better track intensity and progress.

I am 5’9″, and the length of the bike seems as though it could easily accommodate someone 5″ or 6″ shorter or taller than I am. The seat is not very comfortable after the first 30 minutes, and I needed to use a pillow in order to complete an hour on it. This is definitely a “no-frills” bike, but seems to be fairly good quality for approximately $135. I purchased this bike because it was inexpensive, and because I tend to “wear out” most exercise equipment I purchase, regardless of price. So, I will be satisfied with the durability of this product if I get a year or two of use from it.

Good value for beginner, December 15, 2012

First of all inspect the box very carefully to make sure there is no holes.
I bought this bike somewhere else online and had to drag it back to the store for refund due to bend frame and I was not able to install the bike.

Decides to give second chance on amazon..
Assembly: I am a female. I was able to install bike all by myself – very proud of it.

What I like about this bike:
    – affordable
    – it’s very easy to move around the house
    – LCD pannel – has great features

What I do not like about this bike:
    – COMFORT – if I knew for sure I would use this
bike for a long time I would purchase a more
expensive bike. Since I am a beginner I figure
    this was a good investment.
I find the seat for me is not comfortable – I am
    a petite female.

Avoid Like the Plague!, December 11, 2012

On arrival, the plastic computer housing was totally caved in on the back rendering the battery compartment semi-useless.

The seat is way too small and hard, a total torture rack. Additional problem, unlike all actual recumbent street bikes, the seat bottom is horizontal, not tilted back. This puts ALL your weight right onto your butt, hardly any on your back. The reason many of us hate regular exer-cycles. Extremely painful to sit on this Medieval torture device even for a few seconds.

The left pedal would not screw into the pedal crank arm. Stripped at the factory. And the “good” right pedal bolt wouldn’t thread into it either, meaning the crank thread is stripped. Nor would the left pedal thread into the “good” thread on the right crank, meaning the left pedal bolt is stripped as well. Now how many of the thousands of bolts and nuts at your local hardware store are stripped at the factory? Zero. But these morons have a failure rate of 50%. Incredible.

Now the bike is useless after about 3 hours of assembly. Did I say 3 hours of assembly? Oh yes. And you definitely need two sets of hands to install the tension knob stem. And the instructions about it are vague and it is very tricky. Really a fun assembly.

The company claimed it would send me the bad parts, but with a bad left crank, I’m screwed. Because the left crank is not a user-repairable item, it’s sealed inside the main housing behind MANY screws, a nightmare.

I have been waiting for these parts for over 2 weeks now, nothing. They still hadn’t shipped anything after 10 days (Last Monday). And the company is just a few hundred miles away inside CA.

Basically I should take this whole mess down to the dump and just heave it into the busted appliance bin. Because think about it: there’s no way to diss-assemble this POS and get all the parts back into all their zillions of tiny cardboard bins and stuff the whole thing back into its original box for shipping. Impossible.

I thought about buying this from Walmart where I could simply dump it all back on them, but I trusted Amazon and thought this would work out fine. That’s a good one.

    Worst product EVER.

UPDATE: 1/25/13 Still no parts! Unbelievable. Not sure the company still exists, but this is the sort of thing that happens in the final days before a company goes BK. I’m going to formally report these scumbags to Amazon, nobody else should go through this hell. Oh, and BTW, I am 6-3″ but I expected the sliding seat to accommodate me reasonably. That’s the point of the sliding seat. Wrong. The pedals are still WAY too close to me for proper pedalling even at full extension. Anybody over about 5-10″ will find this bike much too cramped, never mind a major pain in the butt, literally. Calling Amazon–these guys need a serious wakeup call.
