    CAREFUL! DO NOT BUY THESE.

    LOOK ONLINE – There have been many cases in which these fail and RELEASE the plate from the dumbbell. It happened to me this year (2014). One of the bigger plates fell from the dumbbell onto my toe, nearly severing it. Its been a month and I’m still not able to walk properly.

    Bowlfex’s reaction was to draw out every possible detail and then told me too bad. They wouldn’t even fix them, not that I’d sell them, because I GAVE THEM AWAY! (After I warned the person of course)

    The last pair of dumbbells you will ever need to buy, just be careful, one drop to the ground and its toast, locking mechanisms are sensitive, not for children or big gyms, its meant for personal use and demand the respect and a pair of workout gloves because the handle is metal, the lower model had rubber grips and is cheaper if that is what you might need. The dial to switch the weight from side to side and front to back is really a cool feature, limitless options for workouts.

    I like the idea but within a month the locking mechanism on one of the dumbells broke. There was no abuse and these dumbells weren’t even used a lot. All the internals are made of plastic. For 650$ you think they would be a more durable item.
